Do you want to secure your home, office, or any other space? We have a solution.
Our 469Locksmith services include push bar installation on your doors. In times of panic or emergency situations, a push bar can save many lives. It is an effective door mechanism that you need to put the weight on, in order to open the door. The hardware is easy to use and it can be very effective in times when you need to escape or leave the space quickly.
Let’s see how to install the push bar and how to protect yourself better.
Our commercial Locksmith team has the solution.
Step 1 – Measure everything
First of all, measure the width of the door and decide which bar to use. There are usually 3 and 4 feet long bars that should be placed between the door stop and the lock. This area is very important. Make sure that you order the right bar length.
Step 2 – Drill the holes
Once you have the proper bar, it is time to drill the holes in the door. Use the template for the strike and pre-drill the holes for the bar and fasteners. Use the screws for bar installation if you have regular doors. In the case that you have a fire-rated door or a door with a particle core, you should use the adequate bolts rather than screws.
Step 3 – Install the push bar
Place the bar and fasten it with screws or bolts. Install any cylinders or exterior trim through the front of the door. Put the trim in place with the provided fasteners. Secure the strike and test if the bar is working.
